I was contacted to play with the band on Saturday night, and let me tell you. This is a caring awesome group of people. If you’re in the area and looking for a cheers type vibe, your search is over. The waiters and staff are some of the friendliest and happy to serve.

We tried 4 different entrees. From best to worst we had the Brad (this one was unique and delicious, would definitely have this one again), cajun shrimp pasta (good but nothing special), pesto chicken pasta (good if you like pesto), and the sliders (interesting take served with an au jus but there were a bit bland overall). Fries were standard steak fries, again nothing special with them. Onion rings dipped in ranch was tasty, those were probably the best side.
Server was friendly and helpful and offered several suggestions from the menu.
I would go back for the Brad (the photo of the Brad is the sandwich cut in half- we shared it)

Wildly overpriced dive bar. None of the food options that I’ve tried were good. Service varies depending on whose shift it is. A couple of the ladies who work behind the bar have been lovely. Can be very loud inside. Outdoor patio is a nice thought, but the area is mostly used as a smokers pit. The bar layout is decent, space ample. Place is clean. Game nights can be fun.
I’ve stopped going here overall because the service, food and atmosphere aren’t enough to make me overlook the inflated prices. It shouldn’t cost me $30 to drink two beers here. Also, if you’re a woman, you’ll get leered at by the dirty old regulars who post up on the west side of the bar.

Inviting and Friendly, Great Karaoke!
This place is great. I walk in the second time in my life and the waitress calls me by name and asks if I'd like the usual. Karaoke Jock the same. You'd swear you'd walked into an episode of "Cheers".
For Karaoke heads, this place is a dream on Tuesday evenings. The queue to sing is rarely more than five deep. The Karaoke software is Karafun, so we can look up and practice the songs ahead of time, AND we can log on to the Karaoke Jock's machine and request songs from our phone. The crowd, and the staff, is super appreciative of everyone from novice to rock star. I would recommend this place for karaoke for anyone of any experience level.
Tuesday is Karaoke night -And- Taco Tuesday!
Several pics attached. Cellphone pics always make night inside pics look like a well lighted classroom. That's the cellphone effect. The place is nicely and appropriately lighted, not brightly flooded as the pics might suggest.

First time here in person. Probably will stick to take out as the food is good but it's crowded, noisy and the service was a bit slow.
Again...food was food and this is sports so I should have expected the noise and crowd. That's on me.

The service was on point. The bar was clean and nicely lit but not too bright or dark.
The food? Well my 3 piece fish and chips were huge and golden but 2 of the pieces were raw. Yes raw. The fries were a bit soggy but that's not their fault, I took it home. The raw fish was not a nice thing. I know the pieces were thick but you have to cook them.

We attended an event here that served dinner. We were in the back room and the divider was only a curtain so it was noisy and difficult to hear the speaker. The ribeye steak wasn't very good at all, I only ate two bites, the vegetables were swimming in grease as were the steak fries. The fish and chips were okay. Not the best place to hold event!!

Our bartender was fun and very patient with our group! Came by to celebrate a loved ones 21st birthday! We didn't get something to eat but the drinks were flowing good. I ordered a Blue Boy that had a lemon vodka with blue berry redbull and blue curacao.

been here 3 or 4 times and service always very good, only small nuisance if you want the full immersive live music experience, you need to be all the way in the room where the musicians play, if you are just outside, you'll get some chatter from the bar, and food is good too, overall one of my go tos for local live music. Stopped for lunch at this spot in Carefree, AZ.
My wife had a salad, and I had boneless chicken nuggets or wings. Service was very good by Christy B. The food is mediocre, although the place seems to be a good little bar hangout.
They also have pool tables, etc.

Ask for Skyy or Dante or Melissa (or Sammy if you're at the bar) and you'll come back again and again. It's a super cool vibe. It's the servers that pull the place together here. (there are other great ones that I failed to mention as well) Since the new ownership they've turned sorta "bistro wannabe" (feels like a bit of a California mentality) -- not right for Desert Hills IMHO. But it still has a local sports bar/pub vibe if you get the right servers. Their food is better than any in the area.
Their live music is great, they manage to get the best in the valley still because it's a fun place.. they have pool tables and you'll be happy you stopped by - AZool really is a great place. Friday and Saturday nights are the best IMO but they have bar games during the week and good specials. Encourage the new owners to embrace the Desert Hills/rustic/western vibe and this place could be the best!

First off, the place smelled like disinfectant. The hamburger was gross. Wasn't even shaped into a paddy, pieces fell off. Tasteless. The beer was good. The whole experience means that we will never waste our money on expensive mediocre food again. More

I usually order a Rueben if I’m gonna evaluate a restaurant because it’s a basic sandwich that shines when done well and I love them.
Place is a sort of north Phoenix dive - nothing special just a bar and grill. Sandwich beat my expectations. Crowd seemed mostly local. Good news was the food was great and the pastrami had great flavor but if I had to find a negative it was a bit dry.
I give it a 4 because I was expecting pretty bad food but got something pretty darn good and a decent value. Cheers to the chef.
PS beer too expensive. 10 bucks for a tall Dos Equis.

Been coming here for years. Upbeat atmosphere. Amazing karaoke singers when they host it. Live music sometimes. I come here on Fridays for the fish and chips. So good. Pool and darts in the back if you like a bit more low key, but the whole place is laid back. The most comfortable patio chairs of all time, by the way. Beer and food prices are very reasonable, even for imported beer.
Update: 9.16.23
Learned that ownership has recently changed. They are repainting a couple of the walls, and added some white tables. The menu prices have gone up a couple of dollars per item. Haven't re-tried all the food items for changes, but we had fries, chili, and onion rings which were all okay. The atmosphere is nicer than it was previously.

Review for Ozools Bar and Restaurant:
I’ve been a regular at Ozools for years, but my recent visit left me very disappointed. The new owners seem to be under the impression that bigger is better, but it’s hard to ignore the way they’ve inflated prices across the board. What used to be a great spot for an affordable meal is now surprisingly expensive for what you’re getting.
One major issue I noticed is the menu – it’s unnecessarily vast. While variety is great, it’s clear that having so many options only drives up costs. The kitchen can’t possibly keep everything fresh, and it’s hard to imagine the logistics don’t add extra overhead. If the new owners cut down on the menu’s size, they could streamline operations, reduce waste, and ultimately offer better prices for the quality of food. Right now, it feels like they’re trying to offer everything under the sun but doing none of it particularly well.
The higher prices, combined with a lack of focus on quality, really make Ozools feel like a shadow of its former self. It’s a shame because this place had so much potential, but unless something changes, I won’t be returning anytime soon.
